All the bright places has a lot to teach us.
After the death of Violet’s sister in a car accident, Violet (Elle Fanning) is scattered in pieces and no longer wants to feel anything. She doesn’t even try to get out of the trauma.
Violet meets Theodore (Justice Smith) and they become partners on a class project about finding two or more wonders of Indiana for their geography class. Theodore helps her brush off her fears and shows to her how bright she is on the inside. He becomes what she needed to express herself.
On the other hand, Theodore has a dark side. He gets into dark moods which he is unable to explain to anyone. Everyone labels him as a freak as he continues to mess things up in his life.
The movie shows how when we get caught up in grief, it takes us swirling deep into the black hole of feelings. We forget about all the good things by over thinking about the bad ones and our sufferings.
All the bright places QUOTES:
“You have at least a thousand capacities in you even if you don’t think so “
“We do not remember days. We remember moments. “
“Even the ugliest of the places can be beautiful if you take time to look. “
“There’s beauty in the most unexpected of places! “
There are bright places even in dark times. If there isn’t, you can be that bright place with infinite capacities.
DO I RECOMMEND IT?
All the bright places is dedicated to those who have been affected by mental health issues, suicide tendencies or grief.
This movie might seem boring in the start due to the realness of the dark sides displayed, but I’ll suggest to stick till the end. You’ll love it.
Yes, I do recommend it.
